Oh.
So that is what is behind the autism - vaccination link ...
... MONEY.
How silly of me to have been so naive. |

Go to the Neurodiversity weblog and see how the lawyers make money
even if they lose. |

$21.5K average attorney's fees/costs/payouts per dismissal.
... (For both sides?)
Batting average of 0.00
358 challenges so far, all of which were dismissed.
Not even, a single successful challenge using autism as a basis for a
claim. Beats the heck out of ambulance chasing. The lawyer cannot
lose. Fee reimbursement is guaranteed.
10,000+ autism claims pending or in the pipeline with "over 218,000
pages of discovery" ...
I have got to wonder if any of the autism clients would get a free
dinner out of the deal. Probably limited to a "coffee & donuts" grade
of catering.
Hmm ... $10K doesn't pay for very much legal service, either.
Providing "Krispy Kreme" might be viewed as testing the limits of
propriety.
Is 'pork' the appropriate term for this sort of situation?
-----------------------------
[Quoting https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Pork_barrel_legislation
]
... This usage originated in American English with reference to gifts
of salt pork in a barrel by slave-owners to their slaves. ...
In 1991, Citizens Against Government Waste and the Congressional
Porkbusters Coalition developed seven criteria for a project to
qualify as pork:[4]
* Requested by only one chamber of Congress;
* Not specifically authorized;
* Not competitively awarded;
* Not requested by the President;
* Greatly exceeds the President’s budget request or the previous
year’s funding;
* Not the subject of congressional hearings; or
* Serves only a local or special interest. |

Yep, the search for money, and more money. Do you want to know why
their are so many claims?
The lawyers get paid even if they lose. IOW, they make money by body
count. |

No, just the attorney who brings in the warm body to file a claim. The
other side is the
TAXPAYERS
who have to pay the salary and expenses of the US DOJ attorneys who
defend these bogus claims.

Exactly correct. The only thing better is being a MLB baseball player,
who gets paid millions not to get on base 7 out of 10 times.

Good point.

No. The correct term is flushing taxpayer money down the toilet.

The ONLY reason we do not have safe very high efficiency auto systems, ie:
turbine or hydrogen is the Ralph Naders of the U.S.
